Baseboards and trim

Finishing Touches

Most homeowners think about appearance first when considering baseboards, which are sometimes referred to as moulding or trim, because they add visual texture and character to a space. Sometimes, a fresh coat of paint or installing new baseboards alone can improve the look of old flooring and update a room or an entire home for a much smaller investment than all new flooring. Baseboards, however, are critical to not only the overall look of your finished floor, but also the functionality. Baseboards run along the bottom of walls to cover gaps and hide uneven edges of flooring installed up to the walls. They also help protect the walls from damage such as bumps and scuffs from vacuums, shoes or furniture and can act as temporary barriers to most minor spills.
Baseboards are available in various heights and many styles, also known as profiles, that range from traditional to contemporary. Some can be stained, and although the most common color tends to be white, all can be painted in virtually any color for a fun accent or unexpected pop in a room.

At The Floor Store, our goal is to provide the best selection of baseboard options to complement your flooring and décor. Our Flooring Specialists can help you select just the right style and coordinate the perfect color to complete your space.
