Nothing
exemplifies the beauty and power of nature so much as natural stone.
Indeed, each class of rock is a product of the forces of nature
– sedimentary rock is formed by the movement of bodies of water,
metamorphic rock is created by exposure to intense heat and pressure,
and igneous rock is formed by the crystallization of molten lava.
Selections of natural stone available include slate, travertine,
marble and granite. All embody natural stone’s timeless elegance.
Ceramic tile can also provide historic stone looks, dramatic slates, and sophisticated travertines. Ceramic tile is a mixture of shale, flint, clay and other minerals that have been shaped, pressed, then fired at temperatures exceeding 2,000 degrees (F), resulting in a hard surface. The protective glaze that is applied before firing gives the ceramic tile added color and finish and makes it resistant to stains, odors, bacteria, and scratches.
