Although laminate flooring is highly resistant to staining, you
may encounter the need to clean a spot or spill so it does not become
a problem:
- Promptly wipe up any spills with a clean, white cloth or paper
towel.
- Remove spots and residues with warm water and a mild detergent.
Buff dry with a clean, white cloth or paper towel
- For hard-to-remove stains, such as ink, crayon, nail polish
and cigarette burns, dampen a clean, white cloth or paper towel
with isopropyl alcohol or nail polish remover and rub the spot
until clean. Repeat this process, if necessary until the
stain has been eliminated. Remove all residue with warm
water and mild detergent. Buff dry with a clean, white cloth
or paper towel.
- For problems such as chewing gum, candle wax or dried-on food,
allow them to harden and gently scrape with a dull knife or plastic
scraper (such as a credit card) to remove. Ice may be helpful
in accelerating the hardening process. Once the piece(s)
have been removed, clean any remaining residue with warm water
and mild detergent. Buff dry with a clean, white cloth or
paper towel.
